angry mePrepare for Rant:  So twice in the last week customer service failed – and I was on the receiving end.  First was the promise of an overnight delivery that took 4 DAYS to arrive.  Yes, that’s right, I said 4 DAYS!  The kicker is that the delivery company actually said “If for some reason this doesn’t get there overnight come back and we’ll give you your money back.”  In hind sight I should have seen it coming if they make a statement like that.

And the second customer failure was:  Promise of an All You Can Eat Buffet – NOT.  Promise of good seats to view the event – NOT!

When I think about it both of these situations are an “over promise and under deliver” situation.  These days in customer service you had better get it right with your customer – over and over and over and over again.  There is no room for missing it.  And if by chance you do miss it, make it extremely right with your customer and then go change your processes immediately so you don’t miss it again.
